Preventing Face Acne

Acne is a generic term that includes any facial inflamed spot like pimples, blackheads and whiteheads. Acne usually breaks out among teenagers as a part of their early stages of adolescence or to indicate the onset of puberty. However, some young adults still suffer with occasional facial breakouts as simple as pimples too. But more than ever before, people have numerous options to treat face acne because of the recent improvements and advancements in the fields of science and medicine.

Pimples and face acne are formed from dead skin cells clogging the pores. Our skin regenerates its cells every so often. Without proper exfoliation, these dead skin cells will end up clogging the pores which may result in face acne. Excess oil and dirt accumulated within the day also account for another reason why pimples are formed – the face may end up as a breading ground for bacteria to grow into pimples and require face acne treatment.

Other causes of pimples are the following:

1.     Improper hygiene.  If you want to cut down on health problems, then start with a proper hygiene regimen everyday.  Do not forget to wash your face thoroughly especially after applying shampoo.  Your hair may accumulate residue that may cause pimples in case your hair is accidentally brushed into your face.  Wash your hands regularly, especially finger nails.

2.     Lack of sleep.  Lack of sleep is proven to be a significant cause why you develop pimples frequently.

3.     Stress.  Stress has the power to affect hormones that would in turn trigger facial spots and zits.

4.     Dirty environment.  Living in a dirty environment would only inflame your pimples to serious skin care acne.  Avoid dusty places that may clog your pores.

To maintain a blemish-free, spotless face, it is highly recommended to follow this everyday skin care tips:

1.     Steam, Wash or Foam.  Steaming your face over a basin full of hot water would open your pores.  Apply your favorite facial wash or facial foam as a preliminary step to wash off dirt and excess oils which may clog your pores.  A facial soap is also an alternative as long as it doesn’t contain harsh chemicals.

2.     Facial Cleansing or Toning.  After washing your face with acne face wash then it is highly recommended to do facial cleansing or toning to clean out soap and oil residue.

3.     Facial Moisturizing.  Apply facial moisturizer or facial cream of your preferred brand after toning.  This will help skin dryness and flakiness.  This is also a good way to restore your skin by keeping it hydrated.

And finally, these are some useful reminders that you have to remember always:

1.     Be wary of your T-Zone.  Your T-zone is the most susceptible part of your face to pimple formations.

2.     Eat a well-balanced diet and undergo water therapy.  If you consume food rich in antioxidants and minerals and if you drink water from time to time then you are guaranteed to have a healthy, young looking skin.

3.     Do not pick pimples.  Do not, in any case, pick, pop, squeeze, or pinch them as they may lead to more serious acne problems.  You can also spread the germs this way.

4.     Keep your hands off your face.  This is rather self-explanatory, but it will greatly cut down on face acne.

5.     Apply only the right skin care medications.  FDA-approved and dermatologist-tested are your top choices.
